Beach Bath Robe

Okay, so I actually made it this week. I made the goal last week to post at least one craft a week. And here I am, but barely. Now as I share this post, please bare with me. I am not a great photographer, so my pictures are not fabulous. So here we go...

I had a couple of crafts that I could have chosen from to share with you today, but I am really wanting to share some pictures of my little one today. She is just so cute and I can't resist it today. A couple of months ago, Dana at MADE posted a pattern for a beach bath robe. Click here to see her adorable pictures, fabulous work and to purchase the pattern for an unbelievable price (totally worth it). I purchased the pattern and have made 3 robes already and I know that I'll make more.

This robe was a gift for a friend. When I made it, I didn't know if she was having a boy or a girl, so I chose gender neutral fabric.

And I made my own bias tape! (I'll show you this tutorial soon).

At first, I really hated sewing on bias tape. But now it's one of my favorite things. I don't know why but there is something very fulfilling about first making a bunch of bias tape and then sewing it on and seeing clean stitches just really makes me feel accomplished. Oh so happy.

This robe is great! Carly loved hers. She was excited to put it on every time she went swimming and it was such a lifesaver when we went to Hawaii this summer. I was able to take Carly out of her sandy bathing suit and wrap her up in the robe while we walked back to the hotel room.

Here's some more pictures of our friend's robe. Thanks to my little model Carly. She love posing for the camera.

I promise, REAL tutorials are coming. This week has been CRAZY!!! I have been working like mad to get Halloween costumes done, so I haven't had too much time to post this week. Hopefully I won't have so much to do next week so I can post my first real tutorial.
Have a great weekend. Hope you all do something fun!
